Health And Support Services

Accessing Services

Services are at no cost to the client and are available to families, youths, adults and individuals in our Oakland, Pompano Beach or Palm Springs facilities. Once a client assessment is completed, we determine which program and location can best meet his or her needs. While programs may require that clients meet certain eligibility criteria, no one is turned away. The agency works with a number of community partners to deliver the following services:

Healthy Start – The program provides assistance to pregnant women mothers and new born infants.

T.O.P.W.A., Targeted Outreach Pregnant Women Act, - An innovative outreach program for pregnant women at risk for delivering an HIV infected baby. The program offers: free pregnancy testing; HIV/STD education; HIV testing; linkage to prenatal care and baby showers.

Closing the Gap– A program designed to improve health outcomes of racial and ethnic minorities. The Program targets Haitian women. Services include screenings and nutrition education.

Florida KidCare– A community partnership program directed to assists families in accessing insurance for uninsured children under the age of 19.

Rapid HIV Testing– A free confidential HIV testing and counseling available at the Oakland Park location, Manor Medical Center, Sunshine Health Center, Broward Partnership for the Homeless and Broward Community Family Health Center.

Ryan White HIV/AIDS Services- These programs are offered in our Broward and Palm Beach Facilities.
Outreach – Identify People Living with HIV/AIDS, PLWHA, who are not in care and work with them to reduce/remove barriers to engaging and remaining in care.
Case Management – Facilitates access, retention and adherence to medical services.

Mental Health Counseling - The mental health counseling program offers emotional support and strategies to improve coping with HIV/AIDS disease.

MSM OnLine – An innovative HIV prevention and education program for MSM, Men who have Sex with Men, delivered via internet chat rooms.

Youth And Family Services

Next Generations Program through Youth Force – A program targeting middle school-aged students. Students receive academic enrichment, life skills training, attend field trips and participate in various community service activities.

Bridge to Success - This is a work-readiness program for youths between the ages of 16 and 21 that are currently not attending school. The program provides family planning assistance, academic assistance, GED assistance, job placement, childcare services and paid work training.

Substance Abuse Prevention Program – A prevention program designed to provide guidance for parents of adolescents at risk of developing a substance use problem.

Family Reunification – The program helps Haitian/Caribbean and Hispanic families with family reunification of children placed in foster care.

Haitian/Caribbean Liaison Child Abuse Prevention Program – this program offers free parenting classes to the Caribbean community.

Minority Tech Gurus - An innovative internship program for youth who “age out” of foster care and want to become certified computer technicians.

Parent Child Home Program – is a research based home-based program targeted at families with children at risk of educational disadvantage. The program promotes parent-child verbal interaction and school readiness.

Economic & Self-Sufficiency Program

Immigrant Employment Program - This program assists immigrants who have been in the country for less than five years obtain employment.

Haitian Family Strengthening Program – The program helps families improve self-sufficiency through expanded opportunities to work, and identifies and build adequate systems of support for healthy family development (access to health care, and educational sources.

Income Tax Services - A program for low-income residents through the months of January and April. Other months by appointment only.

Immigrant Acculturation – The program assists immigrants who have been in the country for less than five years with transition and successful integration to the host country.
